Player Eligibility Rules

The following rules are used by the system to automatically verify player eligibility between Schools and Youth rugby. These rules help ensure compliance with regional branch regulations.

Schools Cup Rule

Schools Cup lock for Clubs (Youth): Schools Junior Cup locks U14-U16, Schools Senior Cup locks U16-U18. * Under review: there are reports that players may be regraded and allowed to play once they are out of SCT / JCT campaigns.

This rule is automatically checked against all player appearances.
Division 1 Rule

If 4+ Junior League - Division 1 games, lock Youth U13-U16. If 4+ Senior League - Division 1 games, lock Youth U16-U18.

This rule is automatically checked against all player appearances.
Youth Cup Lock Rule

Locks a player from playing in younger grades once they have played in a Youth Cup.

This rule is automatically checked against all player appearances.
Grade Play-up Lock Rule

Locks a player from playing in younger grades once they have played 4+ games in a higher grade.

This rule is automatically checked against all player appearances.
Non-League Schools Friendly Rule

Players from non-league schools who have played 4 or more friendlies at Junior or Senior level may be ineligible.

This rule is automatically checked against all player appearances.
Multiple Clubs Detected

Checks if a player has played for more than one club in the current season.

This rule is automatically checked against all player appearances.

How to Check Eligibility

Navigate to the Eligibility page from the menu, select your criteria and a specific rule, then click "Run Eligibility Check". The system will scan all player histories and report any violations based on the rules listed above.
